Well, remember ... there is ALWAYS a market for action pictures. Since you want something different, try thinking of what would be expected ... and then apply the "180° Rule" ... and do it totally the opposite of what people expect.

Honestly, I am not sure the project is what I can refer to as a great script in the making. What I intend to do is try real hard to rise above industry stereotypes and have that sharp, really tight writing to back up the story concept. Its harder I know to come across such stories but certain producers like an Austrian lady I submitted work to said she wanted something about drugs, some guns and a helluva lot of action. So with specifics like this and seeing she always accepts submissions I thought I'd do something about drugs but just not the ordinary kind. I mean most people handle the outside stuff about cops cracking up a drug cartel and killing all those involved but I heard this story about how the mob operates. They are constantly afraid of being caught and always suspect each other of double play so they always have to sleep with a loaded gun by their sides and any time you're blown, you'll be killed by your own people before the cops ever get you. I don't know if that is true but what do you think, a story about a drug dealer who's been blown, he's on the run and well, I flesh it out change him at the end and have him arrested anyway. What do you think? Give it a go or simply try something else because like Tito its my do or die year even if it means getting a short on the market it don't matter but ONLY when I am good enough.

That is always the problem...great script see? Someone at the WGA once said that many screenwriters fail because they don't take time to learn the craft others say its story concept which matters more but I think both do count. Great screenwriting craft is king. That's my biggest dream, to be able to write a great script and as for being anonymous well, its just a name, I can call myself Bill and still be anonymous;)

I started to follow this crazy dream about writing screenplays about eight years ago, somewhere along the way I took the last four years off to travel through South America. It was great life experience but I never gave up on my dreams, now I am getting back to screenwriting and all I can say from what I've learned is that connections in the biz are not as important as a great screenplay. You write a great screenplay and it will opens doors for you.

Start writing... what is your story about?

Good luck!

p.s. If you want people to help you out don't be so "anonymous" get yourself a moniker and get busy writing.

I know I have been here just a short while but I know two things. In showbiz you have to know somebody and it doesn't matter who it is you know. Yeah, am just starting out and I have dreams, real dreams but I need a helping hand, someone to help me get past the doorways that shut out new screenwriters but first of course there's the question of learning the craft its why I am here because all these fancy screenwriting courses, I guess they can only add to what you already are know and when I found a course written by a non-screenwriter I kind of lost faith with any of the them courses. That's it. Okay I won't tell you how old I am but rest assured I can learn new tricks but to be certain you'll be doing something worth your time I'll work on a couple of scenes from a script I plan to work on and post them in the showcase section tomorrow. Depending on how you feel it and are capable of helping out...
