Benderspink's movie premise is so painfully cliche that I can't believe they could not come up with something better. Typical of Hollywood.

Check out the innovative Cowrite screenwriting contest at

http://cowritescript.com/

In association with management/production company BENDERSPINK (A History of Violence, American Pie, Just Friends) Cowrite is creating a community-sourced (aka open source) screenplay.

A movie premise has been posted on the Cowrite website and writers now have the opportunity to submit their version of the first ten pages of the story by 1/21/09. The best opening ten pages selected by the Cowrite judges will be posted on the website and the story will build from there.

Every other week the best ten-page script entry will be added to the developing story and posted on the website. This process of adding ten biweekly script pages will continue until the screenplay is completed and ready to be sold.

Aspiring writers have the opportunity to win thousands of dollars, a meeting with Benderspink and other prizes for writing just 10 pages ($10 per 10 page entry).
