I use a free program called WordWeb.

http://wordweb.info/free/

If you download it and open it, you'll see some weird licensing thing saying that if you take more than '3 flights' in 30 days, you must buy it. I'm not into the global warming nonsense, and don't fly much anyway. Anyhow, it's free and it works 24/7 365 a year. When you see the license thing, just click agree and you've got a great little program that will integrate with MS Word, if you use that.

I use thesaurus.com

Ill find one word to describe a major plot point to the story and then follow the Synonyms links from that word in a chain sometimes for a really really long time and I'll stumble upon good words or phrases, by checking the meaning of the word in every possible context... Its more like a game LOL but it works for me.

example:
space > capacity > contents > load etc etc etc...

Somehow doing this either opens my mind to new words or just helps me kill time til I find a title LOL

Sometimes I have a story, not exactly sure what it it or where it's going... then a phrase comes to mind from a well-known document, or something along those lines, that can apply...

Like "True Faith and Allegiance";
Like "Preserve, Protect, and Defend";
Like "A More Perfect Union";
Like "Against All Enemies";

You get the idea.

Cheers!

Hi, For what it's worth I read something recently that suggested taking a phrase from the script itself. Just a few days ago I watched "Clear and Present Danger" again and wouldn't you know there was the title, spoken by the President as I recall. That has thrown me into a tiz as I now have to go back and re-read one of my scripts for exactly the same purpose. Admittedly as soon as I heard the President say those words it was a huge "Bingo"! there it was.....the movie title. I hope this helps a little but I'm no pro. Micky P

I was wondering if everyone else has as tough a time coming up with a good title as I do. Got any good suggestions for developing a film title?
