By order of a German film production company, Hoffmann Bros. Recruiting in Munich looks for a sarcastic, dirty and rude author to create a treatment, to do preliminary work for our allready cast US-Screenwriter. Arise by reasons of familial problems our original treatment writer from Germany had to leave this project. Because nobody in the network of the film production company was able to create this treatment, we try to find new talents by this way.
The project is an international feature film. Genre: Comedy. Dialogs are rude and biting like Borat, Lord of War, or a film by Quentin Tarantino while the story is comparable to Lolita or American Beauty. At this point we can’t give you any details about the story on the internet. It will be a plot driven treatment with a lot of entertainment value to create a popcorn movie for the mainstream audience. It’s a love, hate and tragedy story covert in cynical sarcasm. Maybe it sounds wicked: But if you be gutted by a best friend, or hurt by your ex within the last weeks, and you have to write your pain down like Eminem in his songs, then you could be the right guy for this project.
Premises: Passion for mainstream movies, efficient way of working, and minimum one feature lengh screenplay, treatment or novel as reference (can be an unproduced scripts or unpublished novels). Short film scripts are inadequately.
Work experience: Newcomers or Rookies are welcome as well as established writers.
Salary: Writing On Spec (=Back End Profits). No upfront payment possible. „Story by“-Credit.
Functioning: Creating a treatment based on the ideas by the producers. High level of initaitive and self-organisation. Weekly messenger or phone meeting between the producer and writer, to talk about all new ideas and status of development. Writer gets all creative freedom he needs, but there’s one rule in dissension: „The studio is the investor, and it calls the shots“.
