If it's a recurring ghost, like a character, treat it as such. Scripto is right ... forget the effects and camera direction ... just write a story ... all of that other stuff gets taken care of after you've sold the story and are busy counting your money.

I'm not for certain, but I'd say:

Illuminating the hallway with an eerie glow, a GHOST emerges from a nearby wall.

Or some such.  You shouldn't need to identify it as a special effect, but you probably should put it all caps, so effects people will spot it.  They'll know what to do with ghost, I'd imagine.

PS - just found this at ScriptLinks - Use camera directions (ANGLE ON, CLOSE UP) either rarely or not at all. Don't include special effects.

I'm not sure how to put this into the script. Basically he is a ghost coming out of the wall. How would I handle this in the action. Do I say special effect or what? Huh

I hope I have put this in the right section. Embarrassed
