I'm so happy for you. Your first script. Awesome. But seeing your work come to life on the big screen is worth more than any amount of money you receive.

Congrats!!!

What type genre for your script? Zombie?

I'm just wondering, I have one in the works too and you mentioned Dripping Dead Studios...most likely Zombie.

Well done.

Please let us know how you made your contact(s).

Did you pitch or win a contest?

since you didn't have an agent you must have pulled it off yourself so pretty cool. how did this happen? was it through a contest or did you send them the script or what?

Agents often prevent production companies from walking all over the writer. If an agent negotiates the deal, the chances are very good that the agent will get more money for it than the writer would.

As soon as you've got a deal, start calling agencies and say ... "I've got a deal and need representation." Sooner or later, someone will bite.

Dripping Dead along with Lions Gate.  I believe Lions Gate is handling distro.  Budgeting is occurring at the moment.  Pretty excited.  Need an agent though, haha.  Thanks!

Just had my first script optioned last week.  Small budget.  150k to 300k.  Worked out a good deal though!  Very excited to see this project come into the making and the residuals should be okay.
