Greetings, Angel!

I don't have some of the distractions others mention (no kids, for example), but since 27 February of this year, my wife and I have had our hands full taking care of her mother, who has congestive heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, and has been in and out of hospitals and rehab facilities from that date until 6 June.  She's now home, so it's no longer an 18-hour a day job, but the 12-hour days do come to call quite often.

"Just do it" may work; I was always carrying around a clipboard with paper and a pen to scribble something down if I had a chance.  (By the way, I found that a little pocket-sized notebook and pen is great to carry along, to jot down some of those transient ideas.)

Cheers!

Thank you all for the welcome. I'm also getting ready to go back to school for a Business Degree but you got me with the two extra kids. And one is an infant at that, ouch! That is multi tasking. Here's where an old slogan from Nike sounds great, "Just do it".

Welcome.

I have four daughters (from ages 8 to 1), work full time in computers, in college for Msc and try to find the time to write where I can. So I know where you are coming from.

Keep at it.

kids and also take to writing . Multi tasking at its best.

I also have two little stepsons, two dogs, two ferrets, a husband and a full time job - Its hard with everything tugging at you to get into "The Zone" I have a few friends who get up hours early to write before everyone is awake - not being a morning person that never worked for me.  So I wrestle everyone into bed, then when I do the nightly walk with the dogs I start getting the gear switched over from daily grind to creativity.  Then I try to get in at least a half hour of writing before I crash.  Sometimes it's great sometimes it's garbage - but I've found that late night walk really helps to focus my mind on my story.

O.K. I'm a newbie... My name is Angel and I'm in my 30's but I heard that's the new 20's, right? Any how, I've been working on my first script for about a year now and I'm only halfway through. I work 10hr shifts as a Lead Technician and I have a wife and two kids. I know how I want my story to play out but I lack the discipline you need to push forward on it. This looks like a good place for tips and tricks so I thought i'd ask. How do you get into that zone? I really do enjoy it when the ideas are coming but it does get painful when they stop.
