Thanks a bunch. I know it isn't really script related, but I figured if anyone would know it would be someone from this forum. As usual you are the most helpful person in my very young film career. Just so you know I'm probably going to add a special thanks to this forum in the credits of every film I ever make. Regardless of how big or small they might be.

Thanks again, Don!

Check this article and page at Filmmaking Stuff that's devoted to creative film financing, film marketing and do it yourself film distribution.

Fundraising is not necessarily film investment. An organization or church that sells candy or has a bake sale is exchanging a product for money, so the buyer does not expect to get anything more than what they purchasing. When someone gives you money and gets nothing in return except a promise from you that they are part-owner in an entertainment product, then things are very different.

There are a number of books on this subject, so I'd do a tour of AMAZON.COM (this links helps Script Nurse ... we're still hoping to break the $8/year revenue barrier).

I'm just curious if anyone has any creative/inventive ideas on ways to raise money for low budget films. I thought about maybe getting a few girls from work to put on a carwash or something like that, but I'm sure what the legalities are. Can I do a car wash to raise money for a movie? Is it legal or do I need to have a justifiable cause to do it like raising money for the school track team? Are there any other avenues I should explore?

Thanks guys and gals!
