Don't usually have much to report. However, just finished the first draft of an animated feature. Have some trepidation as to whether or not I can locate a good animation production company that will accept a query when it's ready. Those that are the best seem to do everything "in house". Any ideas?

Well, I too went back to school. Need to find myself a job that isn't as taxing or time consuming than the one I have. Unfortunately the job I have right now pays the best money a person could hope for in this area without a degree. So I decided to get a degree. I'm working on an associates degree in IT with an emphasis in Web Design. I'm hoping my new found knowledge will come in handy as I develope a website for my small (very small) production company Magic-Time Films.

Other than that, my wife and I are expecting our first child some time early September or late August, so we've been busy preping ourselves and the new house for that. I've been focusing my writing lately and am developing a low budget feature script that I hope to shoot myself sometime in the near future. I actually planned on submitting it to ScriptNurse for some feedback once I've hacked my way through a couple drafts, but school has slowed me down significantly. I check in on ScriptNurse almost every day, but no one posts any questions and I haven't had any to ask myself lately. Hoping things will pick up soon.

We each have our own scripts, as well as a couple we did together.

We do critique and edit our solo efforts, and then go begging for outside opinions.

It's fun working together, even though sometimes it can get a bit heated. One of us wants to take a script in one direction, while the other has different ideas. Eventually, we compromise and managed to get a couple written, one of which I think is very good. That one is mostly her idea and effort, although we did it together.

I check in every couple of days. My wife and I are busily shopping our screenplays around. In the meantime, she's started a new one and, pages into it, realized it just wouldn't work as a screenplay and is taking a break while we try to find someone interested in our current scripts.

I'm toying with an idea, making notes and doing research. That's a new thing. I love reading history, but I hate research - and I've never been able to work from an outline.

Nice working as a team. My husband will run a mile, if I mention the word script.

Well as a newbie, the site seems fairly quiet, evertime i look however there are several guests online. I hope things pick up, you all seem like a nice welcoming bunch. I have posted excerpts from a couple of side projects but between my full time work and family life i dont always get the time i need for writing. I have already found the site to be full of good advice and ideas and will keep popping in myself. Hopefully others will be doing the same.

good luck with all your ventures and keep it up peeps

Luv and Hugs

Well, guys and girls, as for me...

I'm back in school, winding toward the end of another term...
There's a new major concentration coming at my school this fall... Cinematic Arts!  I have most of the courses, and I could get another Associates degree soon!
One of my courses this term is Business Law, and my teacher thinks I have the aptitude for the profession... I'm liking the logic-chopping and precisionist thinking... I may go on to law school.
Time will tell...
Onward and (hopefully) upward!

Kinda scary ... everyone's so quiet.

As for me ... THE GILDED PIANO is under consideration by Cameron Johann at Hallmark ... and MUD ALLEY MIDGETS is with Dan Schneider at Nickelodeon.

Our latest script is done with outline and we start writing scenes tomorrow for BORN AGAIN.
