Well, it would be somewhat humorous ... or could be. There's always grabbing the wrong thing from the cupboard and poisoning her accidentally ... maybe something she's allergic to?

HOw bout backing over her in his car while he's driving the garbage to the end of the driveway.  Maybe he doesnt see her cause she's weeding her plants or something.

Ooh.  I really like that.  The original post mentioned that she represents nature.  I like the metaphor of someone being really irresponsible in such a way.

"Driving the garbage to the end of the driveway."
That seems a very upscale, California thing to me...
Maybe that's just because I live here in "flyover country".
Ya think?

There are poisons that are very hard to detect, but perhaps something more mysterious could be found.

It seems like any competent coroner would discover any natural/innate vulnerability that a victim had!??  Although I've heard that they rarely check for heavy metal (et al esoteric) poisons (ricin, e.g.) when there is NO obvious ulterior motive -- insurance $$$, marriage probelms, e.g.

These both MAY be cliched, can't say, but both bathrooms and kitchens are notorious places for accidents... or "accidents"!

My two cents.

Originally posted by homey3 on 3-16-2003 4:46 PM: Need help on cause of death.

I'm co-writing a screenplay in a sense (or somewhat of a creative consultant) and need help.  There's a nice normal guy who's engaged (possibly dating or married) to the perfect girl (who symbolizes nature).  But in the story he needs to accidently kill her.  I need an idea of how this happens.

Here's the deal ... it needs to seems as though he murdered her (only one person actually witnessed this).  Anyone who was actually THERE when it happened should know it was an accident.  He's running from the law in a sense with that one eye-witness trying to find him to help clear his name (he, a detective, searched and found evidence to clear the man's name...all he has to do is find him).

Also, it has to be the main character's fault that it happened (so he feels guilt and blames himself) but still an accident.  We're trying to avoid car accidents if possible because they are overdone.

ANY help at all would be greatly appreciated.  We are stuck! PLEASE email me in case I can't find this forum again.

Hmmm ... there's the usual gamut of poisons, gasses, and bio-weapons ... maybe delivered by an unorthodox means. Also, do a Google search on bizarre deaths, where you'll find more than 1500 references.

Here's a few ideas I had:

  • She could be one of those peopel who bleed to death very easily. They could be walking in the park or soemthing and they'd be walking side by side and flirting and what not and she would bump into him and he would bump back, but when he bumps back she falls and her head hits a rock or tree stump ... use your imagination ...
  • They could be out picnicing and she could be eating soemthing and he would poke her in the throat to be playing around and she would start choking evnetually choking to death ...

That's all I can think of now ... its late ... gimme a couple days I'll give you better ones ... but I need to save the real good ideas for my script. Sorry.

How about a cause-effect where he avoids and she dies as a result ... like maybe he does something to avoid being hit and she gets it instead ... or any way you want to work that concept.
