sunmedea:
Your sig says "Brampton criminal lawyer"... is that Brampton, Ontario, or is there another Brampton of which I am unaware?

As for the "split in two" concept, I find no difficulty doing that any time.  (It's STOPPING it that turns out to be the problem sometimes.)

Write for the "right" reasons... you can't focus enough to do anything else, for instance, or this motley crew (no pun intended) of characters inside my head won't let it rest until I get down what they want to say.

Cheers!

Sometimes I could really use a conversation with myself.  You know, the kind where I could separate into two people and my brain could tell me what it’s thinking and I could respond back with “woah, you might want to rethink this a little bit.”

It’s a nice thought.

Or maybe I should pick up the phone and call a friend or one of my sisters.

Nah.  I hate talking on the phone.

So here’s how things are going:

Sugar Detox:  I am eating sugar.  I have drastically cut back and I practically want to chew my hand off in return for some chocolate after meals but I am eating sugar.  I’ve let my eating habits get so awful that I really just need to focus on getting back to basics with food in general.  So, I nixed the detox and have been concentrating on my eating in general.  Yes, I have omitted many sources of sugar.  No, I am not running the other way when I see it.  On the bright side, I am certainly eating better things and in better quantities.

1,000 Challenge:  I am not going to be the top competitor.  Do I have the time?  Yes, possibly.  Do I have that much ambition?  Absolutely not.  I have put in at least one hour of exercise every day of April thus far and I fully intend to put in at least an hour of exercise every single day in April.  However, this will not put me in the top spot.  There are people doing two hours of exercise.  I don’t have the stamina for that and I don’t really think I could find the time for it.  On the bright side?  I am exercising every day, for an hour.  I have never actually done this before.  It’s teaching me a lot about hard exercise days and what I’m referring to as soft exercise days.  I’ve had to get creative with my work outs and it’s only the 6th.  I think this will be a cool month.  On the down side?  Woah I haven’t been working out!  I’m a bit tired, super hungry and a little stiff/sore, but not so much that it’s an issue.

Weight:  I am down 3 lbs.  thankyouverymuch  I refuse to weigh myself in the morning at this point as I see that as the “actual” number.  I’m perfectly content to stay right now in my “inflated” number until I’m fairly certain I’m within a pound or two of what I used to weigh.  Call me crazy.  I don’t care.

No photo for this one… I’m not creative enough to think of one!

Rubin says that Metallica are “about to start writing” material for their next album. “I had a meeting with [Metallica drummer] Lars [Ulrich] in San Francisco… to explore what the focus was going to be this time around,” Rick says. “I’m still sort of thinking about what that is going to be. I’ll ask a lot of questions and we’ll probably listen to some of the riffs that they’ve been writing.”

Rick said it’s all in the riffs. “Usually I’ll hear something that will sort of indicate the direction and then we’ll talk about it from there.”

He also said that Linkin Park have been writing new material, for a new album he will produce.
“Typically we’ll have a once-a-week meeting to go listen to the songs that they’re coming up with and talk about them,” he says. “So for early in the project, they are much further along than they have been on the last two albums we did. On [A Thousand Suns] there were still a lot of irons in the fire. We knew, ‘OK, we can’t do this forever. Let’s leave this batch and we’ll come back and address it when we start up again.’”

Big Al,

My condolences to you and your family.
On behalf of all that's left of my family (namely, myself and my wife), I thank you, Don.  Along with everyone else.

These situations are also followed by a good bit of reflection and introspection. May you look forward with new insight and sense of purpose.
The reflection and introspection haven't been going on much, since things are careening into Finals Week - 2 down, 2 to go.
(Including a 5 - 7 minute documentary... oy)

Insight?  One, I've found I can tough it out in a situation that makes a chaotic film set look calm, organized, and placid... Two, I've been told I'm a lot stronger than I ever thought I was.

Hmmm...

Cheers!

Greetings, all!

The Fall Semester creaks to a close... Winter Semester is almost here.

I have several scripts (older) I'm trying to set up to shoot (2 to 5 pagers) soon... classes in the Film track to get into and through... and lots o' stuff to deal through.

In case I hadn't mentioned it before, my wife's mother passed away on 16 July, and, less than 100 days later, they found my mother dead in her senior apartment on 25 October.  Not the most smile-inducing time, it would seem.

Thing is, I'm upright, I'm moving, and I'm looking at the grass from the green side.  (If I'd been looking at it from the root side, that would not augur well for what was going on.)

I persevere.

Cheers!
