My wife and I were huge, HUGE fans of The Night Stalker series, although my wife couldn't sleep for three weeks after the pilot episode aired... she kept waking me up with her nightmares!

All right, since I'm in deep ... my first job in the business was as a file clerk in the story department at Paramount when I was 19 years old ... in 1968.  I used to hang out on the set of the original STAR TREK ... MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE ... watch Lucille Ball rehearse HERE'S LUCY ... MANNIX ... some little show called HAPPY DAYS ... and a host of Paramount movies, including being on the set for some pickup shots with ELVIS PRESLEY for CHARRO ... BONANZA ... HIGH CHAPARRAL (am I the only living person who remembers this show?).  I could go on, but you're getting bored.

There's nothing like a trip down memory lane.

All right, kids ... listen up! Yours truly actually WORKED on an episode of Kolchak: The Night Stalked at Universal just a few moonbeams ago. (Gawd, am I dating myself, or what?)

Thank you for the warm welcome.

The "practice" screenplay has definitely turned into something much more.  Once I fleshed out the long term goal for these characters, things seemed to open up.  I believe that this could be a fourty four page pilot, or, if more subplots come, a feature length film.  I am putting my other ideas on stand by while I work on this.

Tonight, I am going to do some more research on some of the details and then tomorrow I am going to do some more writing.  Wish me luck!

I was inspired to write again, so I jumped online and found Script Nurse.
This place provides support for budding young ideas to grow until they're big enough to go out on their own.  It's a Good Thing.
I have characters designed for a sci-fi world, a fantasy world and I am working on characters for a horror screenplay.  I am currently working on a practice screenplay just to get my feet wet.
The matter of world-building is not necessarily a difficult thing; it has been merely time-consuming for the most part.  It's fun, it's addictive, but it's backstory.  (What counts is what you see and what you hear - the actual screenplay.)
About your "practice" screenplay... why call it so?  Go for it according to its worth and truth - Excelsior!

Cheers!

I have just recently registered, but I have been perusing Script Nurse for about a week now and I love it!

I believe that I should give Netflix some credit for me finding Script Nurse.  When we got Netflix and started streaming it on my xbox, I found every season of Stargate, X-files, Kolchak: The Night Stalker, etc.  I have started watching SG-1 from the beginning and then watched back to back episodes until my eyes were bleeding.  After I wiped the blood from my eyes, I watched more.  I was inspired to write again, so I jumped online and found Script Nurse.
