I'm Australis, I'm a scriptwriter, mainly for TV, though I admit not much to show yet.
{snippage}
So, a little success, but not enough, and I've come here looking for more.  The other thing is, I'm no youngster (50+), so I don't have time to waste.
Well, I'm no spring chicken myself, and I went back to school working toward a degree in film.
Your mileage may vary.
Your CV, snipped in quoting, sounds reasonably attractive.  Seeing a sample would be nice, too...
I haven't sold anything - yet - but there's always hope.
You have questions?  We have answers.  Sometimes they're even the right ones.
Hang out.  Ask questions.  Use your own experiences as examples of what you figure you did right... or wrong.
Seems we always learn more from failure than from success.

See you around!

Cheers!

Indeed ... welcome!  I can appreciate the sense of urgency as I just turned 62 last Friday.

Hi,

I'm Australis, I'm a scriptwriter, mainly for TV, though I admit not much to show yet.

I was invited to pitch to Star Trek:Voyager on the strength of my very first script, they had an open submission policy which is rare even now.

From there, I've written movies and pilots on a range of subjects, mostly SF, but some drama (comedy's not my thing).

Currently I have two pilots out with Aussie production companies - the Aust Broadcasting Corp is "really interested" in them but I have to find a prodco to make them.

I also have a movie for SyFy as well as a 1950s coming-of-age story in development hell, with no sign of leaving there soon.

I have sold a couple of shorts:  one to a producer in LA, a film noir short, and the other to a CGI company based in Dubai.  Was also paid for a script editing job for a short made in Sydney for the China market (jazzed up the script, and my text being used in subtitles).

So, a little success, but not enough, and I've come here looking for more.  The other thing is, I'm no youngster (50+), so I don't have time to waste.

So hi!  Smiley
