Thank you for the reply.

Many thanks for the advice. I have the book on its way as we speak and can't wait to get things moving.

I'm sure I'll be asking lots of questions in the future until I get this finished. In the meantime I thank you for taking the time out to give a little advice.

Happy writing.

I'm Mark from the UK.
Hi, Mark!
I've been a daydreamer and cinema nut all my life and have decided to try and have a go at making a movie script.
It all looks quite daunting but I've had a few ideas knocking around and thought 'What the Hell' and started putting them down as a script.
That's as good a way to start as any...  The story is the first part of it, the part you can't do without.
I'm currently working on a Western at the moment but have no Idea at all how to get it down so anyone can use it.
The story is one thing; then there's the format.  It's important, but not life-threatening.  And the resources are out there... the Screenwriter's Bible by Dave Trottier is one I'd recommend highly.
I found the site a little while back and built up the courage to say Hi.
Well, that's good.  We don't bite -- at least, most of us don't -- and questions don't cost you anything.  You have questions, we have answers.  Right answers don't cost extra, either.
I'm looking forward to finding out how to write these things correctly and get some tips from this cool forum.
We've got people at every level of craft in the spectrum of screenwriters here... from rank novice amateurs to professionals.  If one of us doesn't have an answer, odds are someone else does.  And we are NOT shy about offering comments, advice, or encouragement.

Any number can play!

Cheers!
