My name is Ever. I live in the US with my wife and two kids. Like Don, I have a technical background. I've been a software engineer since I graduated in 1993. I'm glad to know it's possible for a left-brain person to do this kind of thing. Well, I guess it depends on how strong my right brain is. I would say it's okay at least. I used to write songs in my early years so yeah, the creative juices are lurking in there somewhere.
I was born and raised in the Philippines. English was my second favorite subject, next to Math. So, I have no problem with grammar (well, I'm sure it's not perfect but). My concern falls mainly in the area of using strong action verbs, in place of the weak "is" verbs. Man, I've forgotten what those were called... linking verbs? I'm hoping the thesaurus will help me with that but I anticipate some struggling, at least in the beginning.
The other concern of course, is marketing. That's always the hard part. Besides my full-time job, I am also a notary public and just recently became a book indexer. I was also once a variable life insurance agent and a distributor of some herbal juice... yes, you may laugh... And it's the marketing that always seems to stall me.
Nonetheless, I'm determined to write this first script. Whether or not I will get to sell it, I will at least have gotten the experience that I know will lead me somewhere I'm meant to be.
Thanks for reading this. I know, it's not really a biography.
