Al, I would prefer to work on one script at a time.  However, my daughter is much too busy to collaborate on our joint script now.  And I'm afraid that I don't have the vision to tackle the science fiction script by myself.  We will resume the project when she is not so busy.

Thank you for your encouragement..

Rnbrewer, I have to research the subject of show jumping for my family saga.  As soon as I throw off the flu, I will muddle around in the world of jumping from an amatuer's viewpoint.  For example: how many jumps in a circuit, how a rider positions themselves in the saddle to make the jumps, the height of the jumps, what the jumps are called, do they raise the bars as the event continues, etc..

Yes, generally drive myself mad with the details..  I was thinking of approaching somebody at the local pony club.

Thank you for your encouragement too..

It's never a bad idea to have a few projects under your belt before submitting. I've been told you should have at least 3-4 finished scripts ready when you start submitting since a common response from producers will be "This is good, but what else do you have?"

It's always good to explore other genres and I'm glad to hear that you're doing just that. Keep hammering away jenafer, keep hammering away.

This is not a bad thing.

Having more than one project going at a time enables you to switch over to another one with a fresh eye, while you let the problems with the one you just left percolate in the back of your brain.

Working on just one thing at a time enables you to become an expert at FreeCell when you're stuck...

My own idea is to have scripts in totally different genres, like a horror and a rom-com, or a script and a long essay going at the same time.  Getting stuck in one doesn't mean that the others are stuck fast also.

Good for you... go for it.

As I said in another thread, I am working on a science fiction script for young adults.. along with my daughter.  We are careful to have good mix of high tech and fun things for young people.  I like some of the gadjets and strange creatures in this story..

Yet my daughter is on the road so much with her job..  that she doesn't have a lot of time to work on the script.  I came to a decision to start on another story.  It is a family saga with lots of drama happening among the members of two families.

I enjoy working on this project too.
