Gives him "the look"...

When I get "The Look", it's the equivalent of being called "a Man".

{Wifespeak translation:  "You're dumber than pond scum, but not a sleazeball... yet."}

My suggestion is something like this:

Darin raises his eyes to the heavens, in supplication.

Maybe throw in a resigned sigh, as well...

How's that?

A friend says something dumb.  Darin looks at him thinking he's... well... dumb.  Kinda like the looks on Chandler's and Ross' faces whenever Joey says something dumb on Friends.  What do you call that kind of look?

Can I just say something like "Darin gave him the look."?

That's something you definitely want to "show" rather than "tell."

Maybe try: Darin rolls/cuts his eyes toward _______ or Darin cocks his head toward ________, and rolls his eyes.

When I get stuck with what to do, I just imagine them saying it to me and how would I react?

Good luck Smiley

I sampled some of the Friends scripts but they're stingy with facial expressions.  I guess it's because they just knew what to do since it's a sitcom.

Can I just say something like "Darin gave him the look."?  Otherwise, how would I say it?

Sorry, I know this question is pretty dumb itself.  You're probably giving me that look now. Smiley
