"Dashing Santa" he says...

Since that day, years agone, when I last put on the suit, I have lost much body mass... it required actual padding to make the expected silhouette of Señor Kringle an actuality.

Who'da thunk...?

It's not only sad, but it's a sad commentary on government in general. An all-knowing government is an oxymoron, and the current Chief Moron is a doozie. When the people decide it's time to go to war, we win. When the government decides to go to war, it sucks to be us.

You must've made quite a dashing Santa, I think ... toys in one hand and HD camera in the other. Ah, you filmmakers!

Just had a dinner of leftovers after spending a few hours playing Santa Claus for children of my nephew's Army National Guard unit.  It's been a few years since I'd put on the suit, but it was as rewarding as I remember it being.

One or two units (not my nephew's) in the brigade headquartered at the armory are scheduled to be deployed back to Iraq/Kuwait next month... others have a parent or grandparent already there.  Especially sad this time of year, I think.

Time for reflection.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, good Solstice, joyous Yule, or however you care to phrase it...
