submitted by anyone between the ages of 14-24?

Ah bu........

From their FAQ, this appears geared toward introducing the next generation of filmmakers and screenwriters to the development process, and the winning writer joins his or her team in Hollywood for the 2008 Youth Fest at the AFI Film Festival. Hence the age restrictions.

Forwarded bulletin below. I'm in no way connected to this competition.

"Hi--- all you aspiring screenwriters out there. Do you have the perfect idea for a movie? You know the kind of idea that when you tell people about it they always say that would make a perfect movie. Well ...here's your chance to get your idea actually turned into a short film.

Fresh-Films, the nation's largest teen film competition is looking for original screenplays submitted by anyone between the ages of 14-24. You can get all the info on the screenwriting contest online @ www.fresh-films.com. If selected your original screenplay (it has to be 100% created by you- no copycatting other films in existence or other people's film ideas) will be turned into a short film this summer by one of nine all-teen film crews all over the U.S. Teen filmmakers will only have 7 days to bring your script to the big screen so if you submit a screenplay make sure it fits into one of the following genres: comedy, drama, or action/thriller and most importantly make sure it's no longer than 10 pages because the films our filmmakers create are short films not feature length.

If you are interested in getting your screenplay in the hands of Fresh-Films producers go online, check out the contest rules and then get to writing. The deadline for screenplays is March 24th.
