Customarily, sound effects are always in CAPS.

Hi everyone,

Here's another issue I could use a little help with.  Is it acceptable to capitalize sound effects in your script when describing them in your action lines?  (ie:  A car door opens, then SLAMS shut).  Or should I just keep it lower case?  I have read several scripts in which all the sound effects were in caps.  Also, I have seen in a few screenplays that make use of:  (SFX: A car door SLAMS shut).  Is there a difference between how you would write a sound effect in a spec script vs. a production script?

As always, any help is always appreciated.

Thanks,

Dan
