I think the short scripts really improve one's writing.  At the end, any length screenplay needs to be as tight as possible.  when you have to work with such constrictions, I think it improves your storytelling.  Granted, you can't get massive character development, but you  can get a sharp little piece if you work at it.

I dislike writing 5 page scripts, anyway.  You can only really pick a solitary event and attempt to build something around it.  Shame I couldn't think of anything for the short subject contest.

wow , i am jazzed about this contest, i hope the wait doesnt kill me. no matter how much we think we know about screen writing , theres always so much more that can be learned from reading other peoples work.,  script nurse what you are doing here is a GREAT thing.

It's not bad ... the typical development executive in Hollywood reads 30-50 feature scripts every week. Besides, I learn amazing things when I read contest scripts.

I have 133 scripts to read to make the first cut before the judges get to sort out the winners. I'd guess 60-90 days.

Are there any general ETAs for the announcement this year?  I know the site got alot of entries (a great thing!)-- so I'm sure it will take some time.  Just wondering rough estimates.  Thanks!
