Because there's no "standard" screenwriting deal memo, there all created as needed by entertainment attorneys. This is especially true if there are back-end points involved. The book above is about as close as it gets.

Hey All,

Just wondering if anyone has a simple short screenplay contract sample.  I'm giving a director the rights to my screenplay for $0, but we would like to set it up that if there is any net profit from festivals/contests I would receive a percentage.  Anyone know a good source for something like this?  Since I'm getting $0 doesn't pay to hire a lawyer to write something up.
