Don is absolutely right.  Like this is a surprise.  When we here read what you've written, we'll tell you what you need to hear.
It's not the sort of thing that makes for massive egoboo, but it helps build your character by helping you build your characters... and your plot... and your dialog...
You get the point.

Feel free to ask any one of us, or all of us, if you like, for help, advice, or criticism.

It's all free and worth every brass farthing it costs you.

Cheers!

Welcome, Justin!

You'll find everyone here to be pretty helpful. They'll also be honest, which may not be what you want to hear, but you need to hear. It also doesn't mean we're right or you're right. The beauty of this site is that the advice, suggestions or critiques are free — but you also don't have to take them. The choice is yours. Enjoy the site and ask LOTS of questions and we'll do our best to be helpful.

My name is Justin Shelton,  I am 18 years old and I have always loved writing.  I started out when I was 13 or so by writing poems and songs.  As I got older I went through all of the typical teenager phases, I started a band in which I wrote songs for and experimented with everything that I could possibly want to do with my future career.  I have been into baseball, basketball, skateboarding, music, online poker and writing.  When I was about 15 or 16 I decided I was going to try and write a book.  I didn't have a clue what I was doing and the way I started was by making a character list (barley any info on each person) and I wrote the back of the book.  Obviously not the way to start off a book but I was clueless.

Since then I have still experimented with different things I want to do with my life and once again I gave writing a book a shot.  This time it is turning out much better for me.  I already have an outline, prologue, chapter one and chapter two done and I am currently in the process of writing chapter three notes.

As I have been writing this fiction novel I have been visualizing it as if it were a movie and I started getting ideas, I want to write a screen play for it as well and then continue making them.  I have done all of the research on how to this and how to that but with me still having a long way to go I am not 100% serious about who/how I want to publish or sell my work to when I am done and that is why I am here.  I have always loved forums, there are tons of great people out there with the same interests as me and I would like to interact with some people for ideas and help for my up and coming career.
