Thanks for a great site and contest Don. First time I ever won any kind of prize. I'll be glad to post a link if anyone would like to read my entry and would love to read any of the other entries if anyone wants to post.
Don, Do the winning scripts get posted anywhere so we can learn from reading them or is that by the writer's discretion? I entered the NYCMM screenwriting contest last year and it was a bit disappointing in the end not being able to read the winning scripts (kind of like being in a footrace wearing a blindfold). Anyway, just wondering. Thanks for all that you do.
It took them about a week to reply that they received my entry. One page was definitely difficult. I totally agree with having to cut down too much - if only I had one more page! But then I always need one more page.
You might want to check out moviepoet.com if you have not been there yet. There is a monthly free contest with a 5 page limit. No prizes, the focus there is on feedback, which I've found very helpful. A good group too.
Big improvement over last year's 5. I read your post regarding that contest when I first found this site and found it quite disheartening - with the obvious amount of work and love that you've put into creating this site. Hope the quality has improved with the numbers and that your membership and participation continues to grow. This is an amazing resource for writers who want to "grow".
