The 2007 "Mini-Movie Screenwriting Contest" is a return to the original format for the contest with a few minor changes. Here's the details. PREMISE: Any that you choose. It must be original. No adaptations from another work are permitted. No entries previously submitted to any Script Nurse sponsored contest are permitted. GENRE: Any genre you choose (comedy, drama, fantasy, horror, thriller, suspense, etc.). LENGTH: MINI-MOVIE: 3 pages MINIMUM and 5 pages MAXIMUM plus title page; live action only (no anime, cartoon silents or narrative voice-over only scripts). SHORT SUBJECT: 10 pages MINIMUM and 20 pages MAXIMUM plus title page; live action only (no anime, cartoon silents or narrative voice-over only scripts). TITLE PAGE: The title should be entered 1/3 down the page in ALL CAPS, then a blank line, then "by" followed by another blank line and lastly your name in upper/lower case, ALL centered horizontally on the page. Your contact information should be tabbed around column 50 and positioned in the lower right corner of the page. No dates, registrations or copyright notices. SCRIPT FORMAT: Industry standard feature film format only. Use any software you wish to write the script. Use a medium weight 12pt Courier typeface ONLY throughout If you need one, you can download it for FREE from the Script Nurse site. SCRIPT ATTACHED FILE FORMAT: You may submit entries in the following file formats: Microsoft Word: .DOC Any word processor that exports: .RTF Plain text: .TXT Movie Magic Screenwriter: .SCW Final Draft: .FDR ENTRY FEE: There is NO ENTRY FEE. Character development, completeness and depth in telling the story is essential. As you write your script, you may have questions. Please post your questions in the forum and we will do our best to help. Use the resources available on this site. Do the exercises in the Tips & Hints section. As crazy as they sound, they really DO work! SUGGESTION: Keep the locations and special effects to a minimum to improve your chances ... but it's up to you. Scoring starts each entry with 100 points and points are deducted for flaws weaknesses. The best scores are the contest winners. Judges score the following categories:
SCRIPT NURSE FORUM REGISTRATION: You MUST be a registered user in the Script Nurse Forum to submit an entry. REGISTRATION IS FREE. CONTEST DEADLINES: We will begin accepting submissions on February 15, 2007 and we will NOT accept submissions after March 31, 2007. MULTIPLE SUBMISSIONS: You may enter more than once, but each entry must submitted separately. QUESTIONS?
